Experiencing our Exclusive INDIEHOUSE Events : Why Our Reservation Fees are Necessary
To ensure the elevated experience you have come to expect from INDIEHOUSE, we will be charging for our Masterclass and Meet the Perfumer events starting in August 2024. A portion of your reservation fee will be applied towards your full bottle purchase that evening.
As always, we promise to provide you with a unique opportunity to be the first to have access to these exclusive products.
Why the change?
In the rapidly changing world of brick & mortar retail, we struggle as a small independent boutique to meet all of our cost obligations, including rent, paying competitive wages to our amazing team members, and all of the overhead associated with importing products from overseas. Internet retailers, influencers, and most of the small brands that we carry, do not have these challenges.
During the last few events that we have hosted in the stores, I have noticed a significant number of guests who have come, taken photos of the products, the special guest and themselves, then they leave without making a purchase.
Those people then post the photos on their "influencer" social media pages with no tags or any mention of INDIEHOUSE. So I've now paid for an event that gave someone great content, that they didn't pay me for, that did not help me to grow my business or even help to cover my costs for the evening.
I started INDIEHOUSE to build a community. To bring together people who were tired of the hard sell at the department stores and the impersonal experience of shopping online. It's been so exciting to see the growth of this community and our events have such an amazing energy with like-minded people having a great time together.
To protect our community of people who love not just the products, but the luxury shopping experience, delivered in an approachable way, I have to start making our events less attractive to people who are just wanting content for their social posts.
While we LOVE it when our guets post and share about us, when some of those people never ever make a full-bottle purchase, yet consume our services, it makes it harder for us to deliver the experience to everyone else.
