Inspired by the drawers of the sacristy of the Milan cathedral.
It is called “aquilonare”, from the late Latin aquilonaris, meaning northern. It is the ancient sacristy of the Milan Cathedral, the first nucleus of the cathedral built starting from 1386, in the heart of an urban center cluttered with buildings. It is the first place to be built after the laying of the foundation stone of the cathedral. In addition to the valuable marbles, sculptures and frescoes, the sacristy is full of furniture and drawers and is still used today by priests for their dressing before sacred rites.
