Workshop Terms & Cancellation Policy

By booking any of our workshops you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

Individual Workshops – Please understand that these policies are necessary because we have reserved a seat for you and therefore someone else was not able to book that spot.  We have heavily researched similar event opportunities and feel confident that these policies are more than generous.

If you don’t agree, try purchasing a ticket to an NBA game or an AMC Movie Theatre, not showing up, and then telling them that you should be able to come to a future game or movie without purchasing another ticket.  Let me know how that goes.

When you purchase a seat in a workshop you are agreeing to this cancellation policy:

Cancellations are accepted up to 7 days prior to the start time of the event with no penalty. Please note we cannot refund the credit card processing fees (usually range from $6-$12) and those will be deducted from any refund.

Cancellations made UP TO 48 HOURS prior to the event (This is TWO DAYS BEFORE your event - so if you are scheduled for SATURDAY 2:00 this means that you called or emailed by THURSDAY at 2:00) will be allowed to reschedule ONE TIME but are NOT eligible for a refund. After one reschedule there will be a $25 per person administrative fee.  Fee will be paid at the time of rebooking.

Cancellations (or no-shows) within 48 hours or less of the start time result in no credit and no refund.  Ticket is transferrable so you may send another guest in your place.

FOR COVID 19 or other GLOBAL PANDEMIC HIGH RISK PERIODS (as defined by the local government has issued special orders or guidelines): Cancellations are accepted up to 48 hours prior to the start time of the event with no penalty. Please note we cannot refund the credit card processing fees and those will be deducted from any refund. Cancellations made after this deadline will be allowed to reschedule one time for a $25 rebooking fee.  If the studio is CLOSED due to Government mandated shut-downs, the rebooking fee will be waived for one rebooking.

Bridal & Private Event Workshops - Deposits are non-refundable.  We will need to have a firm confirmation 14 days in advance of your reserved date.  We do have a bit more flexibility if your event was scheduled for a Tuesday-Thursday time slot, but when we take prime times out of inventory we cannot offer to reschedule as we are not guaranteed that we can re-book those spots.  If your plans change before the 14 days out mark, please contact us directly to discuss options.

Cancellations by INDIEHOUSE modern fragrance bar – Should we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible and re-book to an alternative date.  Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds in these situations.

Gift certificates, open lab bookings, and workshop bookings are non-refundable and are not permitted to be exchanged for other products.

If we are unable to accept your order (i.e the minimum number of attendees not being reached), we will offer a refund or the option to reschedule you into the next available workshop.

Refunds are otherwise only accepted if an incorrect workshop date is purchased online by the consumer within 24 hours of the purchase. Please contact us directly so that we can assist in moving you into the desired date/time.

Gift certificates for workshops are valid for 12 months from date of purchase. All certificates are non-refundable and have no cash value. Bookings should be made at least 30 days before the end of the validity period. Vouchers cannot be redeemed outside the validity period and will be lost.  Physical and E-Gift Cards can only be redeemed for classes, have no cash value and cannot be used to purchase other gift cards or merchandise in the store.

Workshop prices may change over time and occasionally we offer special classes or discount offers.  We will not adjust a price if you find another offer after your event is booked.

A receipt will be emailed to you following your purchase, confirming your booking.  If the issuer of your payment card refuses or does not authorize payment, we will not be liable if your first choice class time sells out due to this inconvenience.

We pack our workshops full of fun and interesting information - you won't want to miss a minute!  Please make every effort to arrive to the event location 15 minutes prior to class time.  Parking in our busy downtown location can be a challenge during peak times, so please plan accordingly that you may experience a 10-15 minute walk from a spot further away.

  • If you are late, please check in with a Perfumist and be aware that the workshop may have already started.

  • You will only be permitted to join the class once you have signed all required paperwork.

  •  Refunds and partial-refunds are not provided in this instance.

Every person in the workroom will need to be a paid customer.

This class covers fun and interesting educational material and the entire two-hours is designed as entertainment - so this ticket will be treated as any other entertainment venue ticket where regardless if you are making an actual fragrance, you will need a ticket to enter.  If it’s date night and you don’t want to make a fragrance then your date can make two, but if you’re going to sit in the class you are going to have a paid ticket.  Thanks for understanding.

Workshops are suitable for those ages 16+ (or ages 12+ if accompanied by a paying adult AND both the Child and the Adult each have a ticket).  Parents will not be permitted to buy a ticket for their child and then hang around to "help". If you are in the workshop room you have purchased a ticket.

While we are certain that your 10 year old is indeed very responsible and capable, the class covers industry information and makes historical references that would not be enjoyable for younger kids. NO CHILDREN under 12 will be permitted in the workroom for liability reasons.

We are not liable for any personal items when you visit our store or studio spaces.  Please check to make sure that you have all of your belongings when you leave an area. We advise that you secure purses, phones and other valuables on our side tables or hooks as spills can occur and we will not be liable for any damages to personal items that you have laying on the table if a spill occurs and ruins that item.

INDIEHOUSE Studio Items/Studio Space

You are responsible for any loss or damage to any property of the venue at which a workshop takes place, including our studio.  An invoice will be sent to you after damage is assessed and costs calculated.

If you spill your fragrance or your bottle leaks (we don't manufacture bottles, it happens) after you leave class, please return the bottle and any remaining fragrance to us at the store within 30 days of your class and we will do our best to make it right for you.  Any mishaps or issues claims after that time period are void.

Please note that while our instructors do our best to remind you to record your final formula, not all paperwork left behind is written clearly and legibly.  We will not be responsible or held liable for providing you with your formula in the future as electronic data losses and illegible workshop forms may occur, both of which are out of our control.  You also have no legal right to any formula, recipe, blend or name created at a workshop, pop-up or special event.

We do our best to ensure that our studio is free from any viruses and take all precautions to sanitize and clean in between each group event.  INDIEHOUSE modern fragrance bar will not be held liable for any illness, allergic reaction or condition that may or may not have developed as a result of attending and participating in an event in our store or workshop space.
